Alex Pattison

Harrogate Town

Central midfielder Alex joined Middlesbrough’s Academy at the age of nine and has made his way up the ranks since then.

He gained attention for a spectacular long-range strike in Boro’s 3-0 win at Old Trafford in 2014 that earned him the September 2014 U18 Academy League Goal of the Month.

Darlington-born Alex was presented with his award by then head coach Aitor Karanka. He progressed to the U23 side and was a key figure in Boro’s 2016 UEFA Youth League run, making six appearances and scoring in the 3-3 draw at Torino and the 5-0 win over Dynamo Kiev at the Riverside Stadium.

Alex featured for the first team in several pre-season friendlies in 2016, slamming in the second goal in a 2-0 win at Doncaster Rovers.

The Gazette newspaper’s report on the game described Alex as “arguably the standout performer” as he played alongside internationals Marten De Roon, Jordan Rhodes and Viktor Fischer, who was making his Boro debut. Alex also joined the squad for a summer trip to Marbella.

Alex joined York city for a one month loan spell where he played 5 games and won 4 Man of the matches and has recently returned on loan for the rest of the season.

Alex has joined Yeovil Town for the remainder of the 2018/19 season on loan from Middlesbrough. Alex left his boyhood club Middlesbrough in July 2019 to sign for Wycombe Wanderers on a permanent contract.

At the end of the 20/2021 season Alex became Harrogate Towns first summer signing.
