Dan Batty

Fleetwood Town

Pontefract-born Dan’s outstanding form in Hull City’s Under-23 side was rewarded with a new two-year professional contract in May 2017.

He was also drafted into former manager Marco Silva’s first team squad, gaining a place on the bench for the home game against Tottenham Hotspur on the final day of the 2017/17 campaign.

A combative, tough-tackling central midfielder, Dan played a key role as the Tigers reached the Professional Development League play-off final.

Comfortable on the ball, he loves to break up opposition attacks and then provide a springboard for his own side to go on the offensive.

He enjoyed a spell on loan at Halifax Town in 2017 and all at SMI were delighted to see him score his first goal in a 4-2 defeat at Tranmere Rovers. He added a further goal and an assist, playing five games for the Shaymen.

Dan told the press he felt he had returned to Hull as a better player and we're all looking forward to seeing him develop further and fulfil his potential in the future.

Dan signed for Fleetwood Town on February 1st 2021 on deadline day.

Every day is a learning curve when you’re a young player and it’s been important for me to have the right people on my side. I’m developing all the time as a player and the SMI team have taken a lot of the pressure off and enabled me to concentrate on improving my game.

I was delighted to sign a new two year pro contract with Hull City and am grateful to Lee, Mark and the team for their help. I hope to repay the confidence everyone has shown in me by continuing my progress and breaking into the Hull first team as soon as possible.
