Republic of Ireland U21 international goalkeeper Ian was snapped up by Manchester City after impressing their scouts with his performances for League of Ireland side Home Farm.
He became a regular for City’s development side and was called into the first team squad on several occasions, including Champions League matches.
Ian made his first team debut on loan with Barnet and gained further experience at Bury, where he was the hero with two saves in a penalty shootout victory over Bradford City in the FA Cup and kept five clean sheets in 12 league games.
He joined Doncaster Rovers in January 2017, quickly becoming established as first choice keeper and helping the club win promotion to League One. As well as winning caps for his country’s Under-21 team, he has also been called into the senior squad.
Ian has joined Scunthorpe United on loan for the remainder of the 2019/20 season.
