Louis Carey

Central defender Louis is a cult figure among Bristol City fans, having played an incredible 646 appearances for the club, making him the Robins’ record appearance maker. Louis made his debut in 1996 and won promotion to the second division in 1998. After making well over 300 appearances for the club, Louis signed for Coventry City in 2004 but returned to his boyhood team just a year later.

In 2007, Louis helped Bristol City win promotion to the Championship and the Robins were a game away from Premier League glory in 2008 but lost out to Hull City in the Wembley play-off final. Louis was given a testimonial in August 2012 but continued to play for his hometown club until the end of the 2013/2014 season.

His record-breaking appearance came on December 29 2013 against Stevenage. This turned out to be the last time he ever played for the Robins before retirement. He remains a hugely popular figure among the club’s supporters.

I was proud to play for the club I supported as a boy in Bristol City, captaining the club and eventually becoming their record appearance maker. But you don’t play 600-odd games without having a few ups and downs and I learned how important it is to have an experienced, knowledgeable and determined agent on your side. I found all those qualities and more in SMI and I can’t speak highly enough of their services.
