Robert Snodgrass

Hearts

Scotland star Robert has established himself as one of the sweetest strikers of a ball in the Premier League. After starting his career with Livingston, the Glaswegian winger or forward came south to join Leeds United in 2008. He helped his new side reach the play-offs in his first season, scoring 11 goals and adding 19 assists – the highest in the division, even though he was only a regular starter from December.

The following year he was named in the League One Team of the Season after helping Leeds gain automatic promotion, this time scoring 10 goals with 14 assists. He then established himself as a Scotland international as well as one of the most creative players in the division.

After a superb 2011-12 campaign that saw Robert score 13 goals with 14 assists – the second-highest number in the Championship – he was named Leeds’ Player of the Year by both team-mates and fans. His sparkling form also earned him the chance to play in the Premier League when he joined Norwich City for £3.2m.

As his reputation grew, a move to Hull City followed in 2014 for a fee of £8m and in January 2017 he signed for West Ham in a £10.2m deal. Robert was named Scottish Football Writers’ International Footballer of the Year in 2014 after scoring the winning goal for his country in both the home and away legs of World Cup qualifiers against Croatia. Robert left West Ham United in January 2021 and signed for fellow Premier League team WBA.
