Sweeney signs for Dundee

Young defender Ryan’s impressive displays for AFC Wimbledon as a teenager attracted the attention of Premier League Stoke City, who snapped him up in 2016.
The centre-back’s first team breakthrough for the Dons came in April 2015 when he was just 17. Ryan enjoyed an extended run in February and March 2016 as Wimbledon reached League One just 14 years after the club were formed.
A tall and athletic defender, Ryan’s performances were enough to convince Stoke City to sign him as a 19-year-old.
Ryan joined League One Bristol Rovers on loan in January 2017 and after being voted Young Player of the Year by club presidents, he re-signed on loan for the 2017/18 season.
Ryan joined Mansfield Town on loan for the remainder of the 2018/19 season. Sweeney signed for Mansfield Town on a permanent transfer In January 2019 after a successful loan.
