Snoddy Scores As Scots Bow Out

Robert Snodgrass hit a late leveller for Scotland against Slovenia but his goal wasn’t enough to help his country qualify for the 2018 World Cup finals.

The Scots needed a win in Ljubljana to book a play-off place and led at half-time thanks to a Leigh Griffiths goal.

However, they fell behind to two Roman Bezjak strikes before an 87th-minute equaliser started and finished by substitute Snodgrass gave them hope.

The skilful midfielder went on a mazy run and supplied Barry Bannon, who found Darren Fletcher in space. His floated cross was met by Snodgrass, who took a touch before beating the keeper from close range.  

The game, which turned out to be Gordon Strachan’s last as manager, ended 2-2.

SMI client Charlie Mulgrew, of Blackburn Rovers, also played, but West Brom’s James Morrison missed out with a calf injury.

Snodgrass is currently playing for Aston Villa on loan from West Ham.

TV Hat-Trick For Charlie

Goal machine Charlie Wyke scored a hat-trick in Bradford City 3-1 win over Bristol Rovers at Valley Parade.

The game was shown live on Sky Sports and Wyke, not surprisingly, picked up the Man Of The Match award. 

It's great to see "Chaz" back in the goals after being out injured with a torn hamstring.

His performances for Exeter City had many clubs chasing his signature but QPR won the race.

SMI Clients Called Up By Scotland
