Danny Coles

Vastly experienced defender Danny enjoyed a highly successful Football League career which spanned almost two decades and yielded more than 400 appearances.

The strapping centre-back started out at Bristol City and appeared more than 150 times for his boyhood club between 1999 and 2005, playing a key role in 2004 when the Robins reached the Division Two play-off final.

Danny moved to Hull City in 2005 and after nearly three years with the Tigers he returned to his hometown to play for Bristol Rovers. His excellent form helped them reach the FA Cup quarter-final in 2008 and Danny netted a memorable goal as the run came to an end against West Bromwich Albion.

After racking up 100 appearances for the Pirates, he moved to Exeter City in 2011 and established himself as a crucial part of the side’s rearguard.

Following another 100 outings for the Grecians, Danny finished his career with a two-year spell at Forest Green Rovers.

As a player who spent my career in the lower leagues, I know how difficult it can be to find the right club for you. The SMI lads know the Football League inside out and I would definitely put my trust in them to make the right call.

The number one priority for SMI is always the player and this speaks volumes about their brilliant work.
