David Wheeler

Wycombe Wanderers

Goalscoring winger David proves that it’s never too late to make an impact in professional football by making his way back up the leagues after being released by Brighton as a teenager.

He came to prominence with Staines Town, winning the Player of the Year award during both his seasons with the club and also earning a degree in Sports Exercise Science.

Exeter City headed a long line of league clubs interested in his services and signed him after a short trial.

They were rewarded with four seasons of outstanding service, capped by an incredible 21-goal haul from a wide position that blasted the Grecians to the 2016/17 play-off final.

Queens Park Rangers ended speculation over David’s future by signing him in summer 2017.

Wheeler joined Portsmouth on loan in August 2018 for the remainder of the 2018/19 season. Wheeler has now signed for MK Dons on loan for the remainder of the 2018/19 season. David signed for Wycombe Wanderers on a permanent contract in July 2019.
