Former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Micky made more than 500 appearances during a distinguished career.
An energetic midfielder, Micky came through Middlesbrough’s prestigious Academy but moved to Port Vale in 2000 having made just one appearance for Boro.
The Dubliner established himself as a key member of the Vale squad and made 247 starts and scored 31 goals during six years with the club.
Spells with Darlington, Rotherham United and Grimsby Town followed before Micky signed for Gateshead in 2011.
Micky retired in 2014 after four successful seasons with the Tynesiders and joined the coaching staff at the International Stadium.
