Tom Pope

Congleton Town

Hotshot Tom has enjoyed a prolific career in League One and Two. After making his name with non-league Biddulph Victoria, the strapping forward joined Crewe Alexandra where he scored ten goals in 17 league starts, prompting Rotherham United to pay a joint-club record £150,000 for his services.

He achieved a dream when he joined his boyhood club Port Vale in 2011 and he enjoyed his most impressive season to date in 2012/13 when he scored a remarkable 33 goals including three hat-tricks, one coming against former club Rotherham. He was named League Two Player of the Year at the end of a highly successful campaign for the Valiants.

He was the club’s Player of the Year in 2013 and 2014 as he completed three successive campaigns as top scorer. At the end of the 2016/2017 season, Tom re-signed for a second spell with his beloved Port Vale.

Tom has now broken the Port Vale all time goalscoring record where he has surpassed 100 goals for Vale and counting.
