Congratulations Barry Bannan who has been chosen by the fans to win the Player of the month award for August for Sheffield Wednesday. A great month with fine performances, goals and a new 3 year contract extension.

George Smith signs for Dover Athletic

Congratulations George Smith who today has joined Dover Athletic in the National League from Chesterfield. George signed for Chesterfield last season and has now taken the opportunity to join Dover to get regular games. All the best George from everyone at the SMI family.

Ste Walker England U19 call up

Congratulations Ste Walker who today has had the call up to England U19 squad to face Netherlands and Belgium this month. Another great start to the season seeing him make his Middlesbrough 1st team debut in the Carabao Cup and now another England call up. Well done Ste.

McGinley signs for Forest Green

Congratulations Nathan McGinley who today has agreed to sign for Forest Green Rovers initially on loan from Middlesbrough.

Nathan has impressed with his performances with the first team this pre season and in the Carabao Cup but has now decided to look for regular first team foorball with Forest Green Rovers.

Barry Bannan extends contract

Congratulations Barry Bannan who today has signed a new 3 year deal at Sheffield Wednesday. His current contract was due to expire at the end of this season but Barry now has committed his future to the Owls. Barry who has already made over 100 appearances for Wednesday is looking forward to more successful years ahead and getting the club back in the Premier League.

Scott Burgess signs for Wrexham

Congratulations Scott Burgess who today has completed his loan move from Bury FC to National League leaders Wrexham. Scott spent last season on loan to Macclesfield and played 31 games in the Championship winning team and will be looking to add another title to his career this season with Wrexham.

Gibson makes his Burnley and Europa League debut

Congratulations Ben Gibson who last night made his debut for Burnley and also his Europa League debut in a 1-0 win over Iatanbul Buyuks. 

Ben recently made a club record move from Middlesbrough and has now made his full debut for the club with a win and a clean sheet.

Ste Walker makes his home debut

Congratulations Ste Walker who came on as a sub last night for Middlesborough and got an assist on his home debut before the game went to a penalty shootout. Up steps 17 year old Ste Walker and showed calmness beyond his years to send the goalkeeper the wrong way to grab a goal on his home debut. Well done to Nathan McGinley who started the game at left back to make his home debut also. Proud night for all the players and families and everyone at SMI.

Boro younsters get a chance

Well done to Nathan McGinley, Ste Walker and Ty O Neill who have all been included in the squad for Middlesborough's clash with Notts County on the Caraboa Cup. Nathan McGinley starts and Ste and Ty start on the bench. Good luck lads.
