SMI Pair Are Youth Cup Heroes

Well done to SMI clients Ste Walker and Tyrone O’Neill, who grabbed the goals to take Middlesbrough through to the FA Youth Cup fifth round.

Ste, pictured here in action for England, showed typical skills to twist and turn into a shooting position on 24 minutes before scoring from a tight angle to put Boro 1-0 up against Bolton Wanderers.

Tyrone came close to a second when he smashed the ball against the bar just before the break.

But with 20 minutes remaining he settled the tie at the Riverside Stadium with a cool finish after springing the Totters’ offside trap.

Boro travel to Stevenage at the end of January in round five of the prestigious competition.

Alex Pattison joins York City on loan

Congratulations to Alex Pattison who has joined Martin Gray's York City on an initial one month youth loan deal that will see him gain valuable game time. 

Alex has recently recovered from a broken leg and has shown a great attitude and professionalism to get back quicker than expected and we are all looking forward to seeing him back out on the grass again.

McMahon topping the stats table

Tony McMahon is now leading the stats table for the whole top 4 divisions for assists. His 8 assists have seen him labelled the AssistKing on social media platforms and is just another stat to confirm Tony's outstanding contribution to his Bradford City side which has helped them keep up their promotion push this season. A great achievement for Ryan who has showed great potential when played in the first team. Now a very important player for the club who has been unlucky recently with an injury but will be back very soon.

England GK training camp for Ryan Schofield and Nathan Bishop

Congratulations to Huddersfield Town's Ryan Schofield and Southend United's Nathan Bishop who have been called into an England GK training camp at St. George's Park this week. 

Another huge achievement for both players at such a young age. A great experience for both players that will help with their development which will help them progress in their club career. 

This is normal for Ryan who has featured for England many times now but this is Nathan's first call up so a huge well done and hopefully the first of many. 

Its great to have 2 GK's following each other and helping one another out in their development.

Charlie Mulgrew scores on his 50th appearance

Congratulations to Charlie Mulgrew who scored a penalty on his 50th appearance for Blackburn Rovers. 

Charlie has captained Blackburn and has seen a much improved Rovers recently with some really important victories which has seen them climb the League One table and into a playoff position. 

Blackburn are hoping for a strong promotion push this season and are on track with big Charlie leading their team!

Lewis Wing signs contract extension at Middlesbrough

Congratulations to Lewis Wing who has signed a 2 year contract extension at Middlesbrough. 

Such a great achievement for Lewis who 6 months ago was playing non league football with Shildon AFC. In that time he's made huge progress making his Middlesbrough 1st team debut vs Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup. Lewis is a true example that 'Nothing is impossible' and has shown a great attitude towards developing as a professional player.
